Computer Assisted Medical Interventions (CAMI) technology had been brought Information Technology into the Operating Room for some years. Yet, it hadn’t been able to penetrate significantly into clinical routine practice.

The CAMI Laboratory of Excellence (LABEX) proposed to take up this challenge through an integrated approach that combined medical drive and scientific & technological push, ranging from fundamental research to industrial exploitation. Importantly, CAMI LABEX’s integrated approach took into account educational issues and demonstrated a clear medical benefit at the level of Public Health.

This goal was achieved through five (5) Research Axes and Integrated Projects.
